The Extra Divers Qantab dive centre is located directly at the marina of the luxurious Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, right in the heart of the stunning Jissah Bay, surrounded by spectacular rock formations. The dive centre can be conveniently reached in just a few minutes with the hotel's golf cart shuttle.
The Shangri-La resort complex is approximately a 40-minute drive from Muscat International Airport and 25 minutes from Muscat city centre.

Diving/Dive spots
Many dive sites are located just a short distance from the centre, including Fahal Island, known for its beautiful coral gardens and diverse marine life. Here, you can spot shrimp, anemones, a wide range of fish species, and even rays, turtles, and reef sharks.
Bandar Khayran offers an impressive variety of dive sites, from dramatic drop-offs to gently sloping coral gardens – something for every diver. A particular highlight is the Al Munassir wreck, a 3,000-tonne, 84-metre-long vessel deliberately sunk by the Oman Royal Navy in 2003. This stunning wreck, covered in soft corals, lies at a depth of 30 metres and is home to a wide range of fish species.
The dive sites around Bandar Khayran and Fahal Island are only 15 to 30 minutes away by speedboat. In total, there are around 20 different dive sites, with visibility ranging from 5 to 20 metres. All dives are conducted from boats and in small groups, with a maximum of 4 to 5 divers per guide (depending on experience and certification level).
Morning trips typically include Two-Tank Dives with two dives, while afternoon excursions are single-dive trips. Night dives can be arranged on request. The use of a dive computer is mandatory (rental units are available). Dive courses are offered in various languages, and advance booking is recommended.
For the whole family – or even for non-divers – the daily Dolphin-Watching Tours are a fantastic experience, with a high chance of encountering these playful marine mammals. In addition to dolphin watching, snorkelling tours to Turtle Bay, sunset cruises, and private boat trips are also available.
Team & Education
Our base leaders, Michele and Anna, born in the Italian part of Switzerland, are passionate and experienced divers who bring their extensive knowledge and love for the ocean to the centre. They are supported by a skilled and highly qualified team dedicated to ensuring every diving holiday is both safe and extraordinary.
The team collectively speaks six languages fluently. Dive courses and specialties are offered according to SSI standards in English, French, and Italian. In addition to diving, regular dolphin tours, snorkelling trips, and sunset cruises are also organised to provide guests with unforgettable experiences beyond the underwater world.

The Extra Divers Qantab dive centre is equipped with high-quality, well-maintained gear to ensure a safe and enjoyable diving experience. The centre also features a boutique offering a wide range of souvenirs and diving equipment, as well as an in-house workshop for equipment maintenance.

Payment on-site
Cash payments are accepted in Omani Rial (OMR). For payments in other currencies, a 7% surcharge will be applied due to exchange rate costs.
Credit card payments are also accepted, but a 3% credit card fee applies.
Please note that in Oman, US dollar bills issued before 2007 are generally not accepted.

Dolphins!!!!
Spinner, Common and Bottlenose: we organize daily 2 boat trips, with beautiful navigation in open sea to reach the shoal – 90% of chance to spot dolphins! most of the time you can encounter lots of this beautiful creatures, and - few times a year- also the majestic ones can be spotted during their migration – you’d like to know what we are talking about? Surprise! Come and see with your eyes! :)
Snorkeling in Turtle bay: a massive reef formed by pocilloporas (pinky, orange, purple, brown..) hosts colorful fishes and TURTLES in shallow waters. What else better than this? : ) You can join us, during our afternoon trips at Turtle Bay!
For divers, Al Munassir wreck is rated as one of the best dive sites in the whole area, so just come and discover it!
Sometimes, in the evening, the bank of plankton makes the water glow on the sandy shore: this and other very little simple things - that are giving emotions - are worth an entire holiday here in Oman.
